TRIAL BY FIRE 5K RUN/WALK

October 16th, 8am at the Tipton Park Pavilion

The Knapp Burn Foundation 'Trial by Fire' 5k run/walk is a fun and educational event for runners and walkers of all ages.  All race proceeds benefit the Knapp Burn Foundation in assisting their mission of providing burn survivors with compression garments, educational scholarships and public education.                 Registration is open now through Team 224. 100% of all registration fees and donations goes directly to The Knapp Burn Foundation.

The Knapp Burn Foundation was created as a not-for-profit organization committed to:

1. Assist burn victims and their families through the temporary and/or permanent physical, social, economical and emotional challenges.
   
2. Advocate assimilating burn survivors to return to socially fulfilling and occupationally productive lives.
   
3. Educating and equipping the public with burn information.

The Knapp Burn Foundation was established in 1989 by family and friends of a burn survivor injured in 1975.  Throughout the surgery and rehabilitation, they realized just how much pain and suffering not only the burn survivors endured, but that their families also experienced.  While reflecting on that time of our lives, we came to the realization that current support systems are not enough to cope with the losses suffered through burns.
