About Team 224

Team 224, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, faith driven and Christ centered. Our mission is to fufill the teachings of Matthew 25: 35 – 36: "For I was hungered, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me:.." We partner with other non-profits to organize cycling and running events to raise funds for the poor, distressed and underprivileged. Our goal is to promote the spirit of giving along with a healthy lifestyle.

Ride. Run. Give.

Team 224 History

In the summer of 2011, two friends rode their bicycles 200 miles from Rittman, Ohio, to the Gateway Annual Charity Auction in Leo, Indiana, armed with little more than water bottles, energy bars, and determination. What began as a personal challenge soon sparked a bigger idea.

In 2012, joined by nine additional riders and supported by two vehicles, they completed the first annual Team 224 Gateway Ride to raise funds for Gateway. The ride quickly gained momentum, growing to 28 riders by 2013.

In 2014, cyclists from Illinois joined the effort, launching a second route from Fairbury, Illinois, and uniting with the Ohio riders in Indiana as Team East and Team West, working toward a shared mission.

Continued growth led Team 224 to officially incorporate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2016, expanding its support to additional Christ-centered organizations. In 2017, Team 224 hosted its sixth annual Gateway Ride and introduced the Food Bank Flyer to benefit the Midwest Food Bank in Normal, Illinois.

Over the years, Team 224 has been blessed by the support of dedicated riders, sponsors, and partners committed to serving those in need.
